Tenzin Rampa to Join USL W League Madison as an Assistant Coach
Internationally Acclaimed Coach Returns to His Hometown
MADISON, WI: USL W League Madison announced Tenzin Rampa will join the club as an assistant coach. Rampa, a decorated coach with significant international experience and a deeply rooted history in the Wisconsin soccer community, currently works alongside USL W League Madison Head Coach, Giuliano Oliviero, and Technical Director, Liz Lawrence, as the U11/U12 Girls Technical Director at Elmbrook United.
Rampa has called Elmbrook United (previously Brookfield SA) home for the past 16 years. As the U11/U12 Technical Director, he worked tirelessly to refine his athletes’ skills and offer more opportunities for development. Rampa’s coaching prowess extends internationally as he served as the Head Coach for the Tibetan National Team. He also coached Cyprus during the 2007 ELF Cup, Belgium and Portugal during the 2023 CONIFA Asia Cup, and London in the 2025 CONIFA Asia Cup. Rampa is committed to bolstering his coaching skills and credentials and is currently pursuing his USSF C License.
“Tenzin’s dedication and consistency is unmatched, a true example of what it means to be committed to the team and the craft,” said Oliviero. “Every program needs someone who shows up every day with humility, energy, and purpose. That’s exactly Tenzin. His hard work and loyalty will be invaluable to our team’s culture.”
Rampa has consistently shown his dedication to leadership on and off the field, both as a coach and a player. A Madison native, he played collegiately with the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Panthers and was named the UWM representative at the 2007 NCAA Leadership Conference. During his 10 year career with the Milwaukee Wave, he served as the team captain for two years and the assistant coach for three.
“I am thrilled to join the USL W Madison coaching staff,” said Rampa. “It is an honor to help grow the game in a city I love and grew up playing soccer in.”
Rampa’s announcement further solidifies the team’s leadership and propels USL W League Madison into their inaugural season at Breese Stevens Field, which will begin in May 2026. A brand and crest launch are scheduled for December 2025, and the season schedule is set to be released in January 2026.
